Managed to get to level 33 in Magic, and I really thought I would have to buy more chaos runes, even thought I bought 1k of them for 50k. It wasn't cheap, but I quickly regained what I loss by selling wine of zamorak. Of course, because there are more people collecting the same thing, it turns into a waiting game, and in the long run, I don't know if it's worth the time waiting. It really depends if you can get a good and/or lucky day by being the only one at the temple collecting the wine, and having enough runes to be able to cast teleport. I should train it to 39 to be able to teleport myself to Falador, as it's closer to the temple than Varrock is, but I make due with what I have. Plus, law runes are about 250gp each, while the wine is worth at least 1700gp each one. Just need to sell a bunch of them to get enough gold to buy 100 of them, then you won't need to buy the runes again for quite a while.
Since now I have less time, I'll probably be collecting wine and more wine to get some money, because, for now, this is the most profitable way to get money that I know of. If I'm not doing that, I'm probably training my (available) skills.
Also, can someone explain me how a half full wine jug is worth 70,7m at the Grand Exchange, while the wine of zamorak is barely worth 2k? That bloody item is worth more than the zamorak rune set, hell, it apparently is worth much more than guthix, saradomin and zamorak god armors combined! The 3 armor sets combined are 11,7m, meaning, they're worth 1/6 of a half full wine jug. I really hope this is some bug, because it makes no sense!

Current status - 13/09/2010
Well, classes started today, which means I won't have as much time to play as I had before. I could wake up early and maybe relax a bit in the morning, since 2 of the 5 days I don't have classes in the morning, but during those days I'll probably just want to sleep. Of course, it's still early and I still don't have a set time to wake up and go to bed, so right now my body clock is completely fucked up.
As the days prolong, I'll be able to get a better feeling on how I'll be able to manage my time.
Anyway, just thought I would give everyone a heads up on my current status. In a while I'll be posting a new update, as I wrote it yesterday before I went to bed, but it was already 5am and I had to wake up at the very least at 12am, anything after that would be really bad, as I didn't wanted to look like a zombie during classes.
As the days prolong, I'll be able to get a better feeling on how I'll be able to manage my time.

Update #5 - Bronze gives more gold than gold itself
How does this work? I don't understand. You'd think that gold bars would be more valuable, but apparently not. So as you can guess, I did manage to smelt the tin and copper into bronze bars, 418 of them to be exact, and each bronze bar got me 304gp each, making it a total of 127k from all that. It was definately worth the mining. "Mining you say? Didn't you buy the tin and copper before?" you ask (or not, how should I know anyway?). Well, I did buy the copper, however, no one was selling tin, so I had to mine 418 of it to make the bronze bars. I even tried several times buying it, but to no avail.
With that out of the way, made my way to the Hill Giants again, and managed to get to 40 Attack, meaning, rune scimitar time! Like I was expecting, some people were more than willing to sell it. I REALLY have to work on my Strength though, I'm still hitting fairly low, and I'll want at the very least 40 Defense to be able to wear rune equipment. After that, I'll probably just pump Strength up and maybe buy a 2h sword.
So now I have around 220k in the bank (not much for most people I bet, but it's a pretty big sum for me), and tomorrow I'll probably go fishing again, as I want to at least get 50 Fishing. I also wanted to train Magic, but the chaos runes are so damn expensive. Hopefully I'll be able to buy enough to reach level 33, and then I'll start tele-grabbing Zamorak wine. All I need is a wind staff and law runes, and I already have about 20 or so from the Hill Giants. Plus, the wine is more expensive than the law runes, so I can use the ones I have to get wine, sell it, buy even more law runes, and repeat until I die of old age. That is, if I can afford and have the patience to train Magic to level 33, and that's a big "if".

Update #4 - I'm not fat, I just have big bones
I finished the quests I mentioned on my previous post (Demon Slayer and Rune Mysteries), and I started mining for rune essence, and I think I mined around 300 of it, but then got bored. Sure, it gives a nice amount of money, but I really wanted to do something I felt it wasn't as boring, so I went ahead and did some research on recommended training areas for Attack, Strength and Defense, and after some 5 minutes searching, decided to pay a visit to Hill Giants, and I just love that area. They have a lot of health, thus, more XP for me, the gold they drop isn't bad, they can drop Law, Nature and Cosmic runes, the big bones are also pretty awesome, both for Priest levels and to sell, and finally, the limpwurt roots sell for a good amount of money, 1216gp each currently.
After about 1 hour of hunting them, reached 37 Attack, but I stopped killing them because I ran out of food, so it was time to deposit and sell the things I earned, and I managed to make my first 100k gp. Sure, it's nothing special for a lot of players, as they probably get that in a few minutes, but for me, that's a milestone, and the best thing to do is, obviously, to waste it right away to train Smithing.
...Right?
Because I can't stand mining in this game (and I played Ultima Online for two years on T2A and I'm complaining about mining? Oh, the irony!), I went ahead and bought a bunch of tin and copper ore so I can smelt that into bronze bars, and hopefully, all the ore I bought will be enough to bring me to level 15, because after reaching that point I can simply complete a quest that'll bring me up to 31 Smithing right away.
But now I'm thinking I shouldn't have wasted all that gold on the ore and just keep getting more to be able to buy rune equipment later on. Ah well, at least now I can kind of get it back through rune essence, albeit it is a bit boring, but hell, it gives me XP in Mining. I'll have to find some other source of income, but this will do for the time being.

Update #3 - Mazes and Monsters
Truth be told, the Stronghold of Security isn't a maze, but I didn't had any other title in mind.
I stopped training Fishing and currently it's at 42, which is enough to fish for lobsters, and that's going to be my main food for when I face tough enemies, and I'll probably still use trout and salmon for when I go train against lower leveled mobs. After I stopped, I decided it was time to train Attack, Strength and Defense, since they were still low, and at the same time, I could make some nice cash at the Stronghold of Security.
From Karamja I went to the Barbarian Village, where usually other people drop some fish, and I would simply pick it up and cook it at Peksa's store, go down the hole, committ genocide against the minotaurs, and when I started running low on food, I would simply go back up and repeat the process. After a while they won't hit you very often, although they would still hit me for 26 HP, and sometimes they would do 3-4 hits in a row, but other than that, it was smooth sailing. Decided to go up to 30 in those 3 skills, so I could use adamantite equipment. Down there, I would pick up the bones they dropped (I think I leveled about 6 Prayer levels), the gold and the iron arrows. At the Grand Exchange, they sell for about 26gp, so if you have 400 of those arrows, and the minotaurs drop them frequently, that's 10400gp of profit, not bad for someone still starting. The problem is getting a room of minotaurs that's not already crowded with people. I don't understand why someone would go to the first level of that dungeon to kill level 12 minotaurs; their loot isn't great, and they can't stand that many hits, and yet they don't go down deeper where there are stronger monsters, thus, more XP.
After reaching 30 Attack, Strength and Defense, I went ahead and bought adamantite equipment. I don't know if this is normal, but there doesn't seem to be many people selling a lot of adamantite gear, as it took a couple of hours before starting to get what I wanted, rune gear seems to be selling well though, so I shouldn't have a problem finding that when I get to that point.
I should start doing quests, now that I think about it. So far I've only done those piss-easy ones, like The Blood Pact and The Restless Ghost. Maybe I'll tackle Demon Slayer next (fuck you mage with your "bring me 24 sets of bones!"), and after that, Rune Mysteries, meaning, another way to make some cash. We'll see if I actually feel like making those ones.

It's 4:15 am and I'm still playing. Good thing it's weekend, it would suck if I had to wake up in about 4 hours due to classes.
Now I moved from trout and salmon to tuna and, in a few levels, lobsters. They heal a lot, and for non-members, it really doesn't get better than this, however, later on, I'll probably make the lobsters my main food. Now, I don't know if back then they had this, but I read on a wiki that in Karamja there's an NPC that turns all the tuna, lobsters and swordfish in your inventory into notes. This is really useful, since there are no banks in Karamja, and before I read this, I had no clue how I was actually going to make a profit with these tunas. Selling them to the general store wouldn't cut it, raw or cooked, and the run towards the nearest bank is too long and also has the cost of the boat trip, but with this NPC, you simply turn all those fish into notes, and since notes stack, you can eventually carry a ton of them back to some other place where you can either sell them raw or cook them, your choice.
The fact that you can turn a fish into a piece of paper raises a lot of eyebrows though. Just think about it.

Bitching aside, at the moment I'm training my Fishing skill so I can get some decent food for when I go kill monsters. At the moment I'm only at level 21, since I've started a few hours ago. This is the point, however, where fishing starts to become lucrative for the fact that the Trouts heal 70 HP each. There's also a nice spot at the Barbarian Village where you can fish for Trout and Salmon, and at Peksa's store (the helmet store), there's a constant fire where you can cook your food, so no need to bring an axe and tinder box.
What's good about this place is that I can either:
- Fish and cook them right on the spot, then run back to the Grand Exchange to sell them;
- Fish and cook them on the spot and sell/give them to players;
- Fish and sell/give to players neaby so they can cook the food themselves, giving them Cooking experience;
- Fish and sell at the Grand Exchange.
As you can see, I have a good amount of choices on what to do at this point, but right now I'll probably fish a bunch of them, cook them and then deposit them so I can use them for the future, and then fish and cook another bunch and sell them for profit.

Welcome to my blog!
Hello everyone, welcome to my blog, and thanks in advance for stopping by!
For those wondering, you can safely assume that this blog will contain things about Runescape, and you'd be right, 100% right in fact. The purpose of this blog will be to document the progress of my character, which, for now, I'm still without membership. I might try the 7 days free membership though before I pay for the real thing. That is, if I can even afford it at this time. You know, economic crysis and shit.
Brief story on my experience with the game: I used to play this game a few years back (5 IIRC), meaning, back then there was no Grand Exchange, lots and lots of people at the Wilderness and scamming was plentiful. I got into the game as a friend of mine told me he knew a "cool game where you can make weapons and armor and stuff, and the world is pretty big", and since I'm a major RPG geek, I had to see the game for myself, and the game was pretty fun. Back then I had a really crap computer and didn't even have internet, so I usually played at the nearby cybercafe.I t wasn't cheap, 1 hour = 2€, and eventually I found one that was much cheaper, 2 hours = 0,75€. However, that soon stopped being a problem, because after a month my parents decided to purchase internet service, and even though the service wasn't that great and we got a better one months later, it still was pretty damn good. That was my ticket to play Runescape for hours without paying per hour or two. When my character reached level 48, someone from my friends list managed to steal my password. I'll admit that, back then, I wasn't the smartest pickle in the jar, if you know what I mean, so looking back at that day, it wasn't a surprise that it happened, hell, I'm more admired how I didn't get hacked sooner.
I always had issues with the playerbase of the game, since it was (and still is) populated by a LOT of underaged wannabe internet tough guys, but there are some exceptional people. Unfortunately, it's been a long time since I played this game, so I don't remember anyone from my old friends list, and they wouldn't remember me as well. I also had huge quarrels with the developers of the game, as I always got pissed how they only updated daily for members, while the rest could eat dirt. Again, I have to admit that, back then, my brain wasn't fully developed (and sometimes I still think it needs more time to mature, but I digress), so I couldn't really reach the conclusion that they obviously only updated for them because they're their costumers, they're the ones keeping the boat floating, while the rest is just to polish and to scrub the deck.
(Brief story my ass, this looks more like a fucking will than a short story.)
Anyway, I wished I had this idea before making my character, as he's already at level 30, 218 overall, but believe me, you didn't miss much, just some tedious grinding and some trading at the Grand Exchange. You know, what most people do when they start a new character (or at least I assume that's what they do, since it's easy, doesn't take much time, and it's quite profitable).
This is going to end this gargantuan introduction post, as I don't have anything else to say, at least on this post here. If anyone wants to chat with me in-game, just find "Rsraven90". Hope I'll be able to find some of you people online! :)
